Morgan Plus 4 SuperSports Race Pack Details

Here are some detail photos of the Morgan Plus 4 SS details and the optional Race Pack. I chose not to have the Corbeau race seat fitted (I wanted a more vintage look), although I may amend this once I've tried the car on track if I feel I need more grip from the seat.

At the moment, I have removed the head rests on the drivers seat to allow it to slide back on the runners as far as possible. This means I can now fit in the car comfortably but it does (even with the headrest in place) mean my head is a little too close to the roll bar for comfort. In intend to fit some FIA padding to the bar because while my head isn't in contact with the bar whilst driving, I wouldn't like to come into contact with it should I have a shunt.

Some other points to note are that MMC built a cage for my fire extinguisher. Normally it is bolted to the floor, near the cross member but I asked if they could build a cage for it, so that the passengers feet don't come into contact with it. This does reduce the length of the passenger footwell but I rather like the look of it and it certainly makes for a clean job.

The plumbed in extinguisher is very tidy and, when armed, there are activation points both inside and outside the car.

I took a few photos of the roll bar as someone was asking about how they were mounted - I hope my photos help.

Lastly, belts! I asked for my car to come fitted with both the 4-point harnesses and road belts. I am already glad I've gone this route - it makes short journeys a pleasure, not having to go through the 'pilot' routine of belting up the harnesses (and when not in use they store behind the seats and are non invasive).

Any questions, just ask smile

Thanks for the comments guys smile

I'll try to remember the questions I've been asked:-

Graham - haven't tried the clocks... will do so wink

Matt and Thord - it is road registered and as the sun was making a rare appearance this weekend, I made sure to make the most of it drive

David - with respect to #60, I asked very nicely and paid my money spend grin2

The car is still available to order and I believe a large batch are about to leave the factory (if they haven't already!). Mine was held up because Aero Racing were waiting for parts of the pack to come into stock. I ordered my car early and before I'd seen the factory prototype but it has certainly been worth the wait and the finish of the Plus 4SS has exceeded my expectations.

Excellent.

So, you will, of course, be bringing it to Prescott in September, for the +4 anniversary gathering...? flag And, I would hope, running it up the Hill... somestick

It's a non-competitive day, you can drive as if it's Sunday afternoon if still doing some running in...
Might give me a chance to keep up in my 4/4 grin2, but I know the correct lines.
Achieving them is another matter rofl
Seriously, there's usually no more than 2 cars out on the course at any one time, separated by roughly half the hill length... And, as I should be on the start line, I'll be watching the antics!

Cheers,

Graham (G4FUJ)

Lovely car Simon...I'm very envious! Are those Simmonds feet for the aeroscreens or Morgans own?

The only criticism I have is the connector for the windscreen....shame there is nothing neater around. I'm still trying to source something for my screen.

Simon,

first chance to have a detailed look. What are the two small sensor looking things on the top of the dash?

Once BTG gets started on your garage I'll happily provide it with a home for you smile

I wish! I'm too busy working so that I can pay for it work wink

Also, at the moment, the weather in the UK isn't conducive to top down motoring; it is more suited to ducks. gloomy

Graham - Prescott sounds great but I don't think I'm going to be able to make it; which is a real shame.

Prescott noted. Shame!

You should be over this side of the country - it's sunny here in North Gloucestershire grin2

Even Better with such fine detailing love . Have you just a radio or a 6 disc autochanger.

I think achieving the '60' was a very shrewd move. With such a fine limited edition model, it just needs someone now to start a 'Register' work
