Boat build

Another experiment in photo posting, this photo was taken yesterday, if this works I will add earlier pictures of the build and bore you all.

Fantastic, it worked, now I can add earlier pictures if there's any appetite for them out in TM land. I might even do it there's not.😂

Clever idea to hold the belt sander thumbs, I may adopt this instead of bodging it into the old B&D Workmate jaws

So the result of 12 hours cutting, sanding, routering, jointing and fitting here's the end result ready for gluing in place. Soon as decide about the transom door that is!

Company work stops early on a Friday so I managed to make a start to caulking the deck.
Bit of a learning curve as usual, secret appears to be removing the masking tape when the sikaflex is half cured.

I also decided that a gate was the best option for the transom opening. Not hinged in the photo but hinges arrived today so maybe this weekend.

Thanks again for your comments. Much appreciated.

Progress has been slow over the past 8 weeks or so due to work commitments but most of the caulking is done and I got a couple of coats of Teak protector onto the cabin sides and foredeck hatch tonight. This is a new product to me, I've always used Teak oil in the past. Apparently Teak oil draws the natural oils out of the wood and leads to recoating at an ever decreasing timescale.

Teak protector is a water based product that lasts 4 times longer than oil and doesn't draw out the natural oil and is UV blocking.
Been getting it wrong all these years ooo

You live and learn.

Hopefully will get the decks coated and get her outside this summer 🤞

Great progress, all that caulking must get a bit tedious

Where the glazing fits into the frames flush, will you fashion some sort of Bolection cover bead ?
