I don't worry too much about revs ( within reason) , more the load on the engine. I avoid labouring at all costs & gradually increase the power as the miles progress. I've done over 2000 miles to date & am now giving it the occasional bit of serious wellie

I think you can be too cautious, resulting in the engine ( and other part, of course) not being run in when you start using full power. I reckon my last Roadster wasn't really running freely until it had some 10,000 on the clock, so in spite of my best efforts

, it still hadn't been run in properly until then.
