Steady on Howard. That seems a bit of an over reaction to what is probably an easily rectified fault. The car looks great Mike, and frustrating thought this problem must I hope it doesn't blight your enjoyment of a brilliant new toy.
Anyway, surely it should be "killed off the uk owned motor industry", as I understand that the UK is building more cars then ever - even 'tho, apart from Morgan, all is foreign owned...
One of the things I really like about this forum is how nice and reasonable everyone (else
) is. But when something so new is so faulty as to have to be carted off for repair, I dont think that reasonableness is necessarily whats needed. It is a personal decision but I do feel sorry for the OP who has had the gilt taken off his gingerbread so quickly.
As for the "UK owned" bit, I do not agree. Its not a motor industry when Nissan and Honda are assembling cars in the UK to foreign designs using foreign components and British labour only for the unskilled assembly line work. We have become a branch factory economy, having to bribe the factory owners to keep that assembly work in the UK whenever a new model comes up. How could we get from having the biggest motor industry in Europe to having none in just one generation, mine?
