Morgan make a plywood former/extension piece that fits over 2 eared spinners, which then allows both the extra leverage required to undo the spinner and protects the surface finish.
Not so easy to use if you have a +4 or Roadster, due to the offset rim, but the ideal solution on a 4/4.
I also bought a 1.5kg 12 inch handled rubber mallet from my local tool shop. . . .it does the job!
