A-B-C-D catagories mean diddly squat, if the insurance companies do not get involved with a claim.
Here is a true story.
Approx 1988 i had a full flow 7 staff crash Repair Centre, working with insurance,Private and Trade.
We used to carry out all the work for a Main Vauxhall dealer locally.
One day we got a tele call
On its way over to you is a Vauxhall Senetor 3.0, top of the range vauxhall app @£30k.
This was when cars were regesterd 1 Aug, and the call came in app 2 weeks prior to that date.
The car arrived on the back of a low-loader and was stuffed heavily in the O/S/F Wing, O/S/F Door, "A" Post was in 2", Screen cracked and full front end over about 4",in other words totalled.
The Dealer Parts dept called, What parts do you require for that car, your joking i said it's F***ked , no fix it they said, charge us what you like.
Here is the story, A customer had walked into the dealerdship, paid his hefty deposit on A car, he then was taken to the storage compound 5 miles away and asked to choose the car and colour he wished for, the Salesman and the Customer departed from the compound and left the Valetor to drive the car back to the salesroom to prep, whilst pulling out of the yard he was hit side on (his fault for not looking) hence the damage.
The car was not involved in an insurance claim, the garage covered the costs and the Car was delivered 2 days before the unsuspecting Customer arrived to collect.....none the wiser i may add.

Disgraceful.......but thats the Motor trade .
