If you are buying it, then you are surely just gambling that at some point in the future, it will be an economic repair as right now it isn't.
I suppose you could push it into lake Maggiore in a spectacular fashion for safe keeping and to increase it's heritage interest. Or stack some paper under it in the meantime so it can do something useful while sitting there waiting....
