I tend to side with Jays comments and actually delight in all the fiddling around that is part of ownership.
I've got to agree with that but the problem area is modern electronics. Some of it you canmnot avoid - for example the use of fuel injection to get emissions. But others you can - I see no reason for ABS for example. Or fly by wire throttles.
The car can be kept simple and easy to tinker with whilst still being modernised
