I have been asked by many to keep them informed of my progress, thus this post. That and I'm bored

As some know I was diagnosed with colon cancer approximately 4 weeks ago, and as such after consultations and cameras and scans I had to undergo an operation to remove the offending tumour. On Friday I came into hospital and after a 6.5 hour operation emerged unscathed (well cut, bruised, battered and groggy as anything).
I am now sitting on a ward with all needles, pipes and oxygens removed most faculties working normally and hoping I continue to improve and leave during the week for some R&R at home. I have my iPad and so will be logging on from time to time.
I've yet to see my consultant after the op (he must be sick to the teeth of me after 6.5 hours

) but I'm led to believe there were no surprises and everything was removed and sent for analysis. Once we have these results back we will know what the next step is. If it has spread to the lymph nodes I will embark on chemotherapy.
Thanks for all your good wishes and support
Cheers
Andy
