Hello Mark,
I have just returned from the Mille Miglia driving the +4 there and back( around 2500 miles ) and the car never missed a beat. Of course, luggage is a bit of a problem but I use a dry bag on the rack.
As is expected, during some awful rain, my right leg was soaked as was my right arm but the heater soon dried them out.
I think the worse thing is on Motorways when your elbow is very close to the lorry wheel nuts and they pull out infront of your otherwise go for it, you will be fine!
