Having open access like this would have been a treat! The itty bitty panel allows not much room to work. I was able to remove the bolts with various gadgets and grabbers as well as putting it all back together again. Looks like the base material has changed as well from the pix. Mine is raw aluminum with some seriously welded joins.
Must remember to take photos whenever I work on this thing. Sometimes it's so quiet I can hear my brain cells die...
Here is a photo of a pedal box in a LHD M3W that was being built last week. As you can see, the length of the hydraulic hoses will not allow the pedal box to be moved any further forwards.
My dealer tells me that the the pedal box is installed at the furthest forward position as standard during the build.
