Was upgraded to a hired open top Corvette to drive the Canyons in the US. They could not open the boot for the luggage, so back to the Mustang, with a certain 3.7 litre engine that looked very familiar. Great car great engine, that was a great high speed cruiser. Everyone I met preferred it to the 'vette. General consensus 'vette is a case of 'style over substance.'
Dunno who you were talking to, even what was once a Ford-specific performance shop around here (the one that supercharged my C5) has said "mustangs are toys for kids, corvettes are for when they grow up and want some real power and performance".

I definitely think the current mustang was a mustake as far as styling goes, even my Ford-crazy friends think the back end design was a huge error by the boys in blue-oval. That said, their V6 is putting out as much horsepower (maybe not torque though) as my older Corvette was when it was brand new, which is definitely impressive.
