I will not be able to afford a new car unless either premium bonds deliver or my 1 ticket per week on the lottery comes up.
I have in the past bought 3 new sailing yachts increasing in size each time. The first 12-24 months were always spent getting them sorted from warranty items to things I wished I had specified differently. It was fun though specifying something that was all mine and uniquely so; part of the pleasure and frustration in equal measure was getting it sorted. . A friend always buys yachts that are 2 years old and have the problems fixed and then customized them.
I think out of preference I would specify a new Morgan because it would have a large element of me in it. I enjoy fixing things and that I guess would sway the argument for people. If you are happy tinkering and have patience new is the way to go.
In my case once he dust has finally settled I will look for a Mog that has been cared for but driven, I think low mileage on an older car would put me off, low mileage in Morgan terms judging by other threads would be under 3k per year.
The other option I guess is go really old and restore or part restore but not for me as part of it is the driving experience that I miss since selling in 1986
