If you get nowhere by crying "abuse" when I posted a link to a plane which uses oiled foam filters for their desert kit, instead of responding to the validity of having an aeroplane with oiled foam filters, let's just ignore the other valid points and pretend you made a relevant point.

Their "desert kit" consists of a box with oiled foam filters rather than the ordinary, smaller filters they use. They don't do this to add more air to the aircraft's turbine intake, but to stop ingress of sand and dust.
