Twenty years ago I ived on the Wirral and new a guy called Roger Morgan who worked for Lubrizol. I used to see him socially and he me he had inherited a whole load of boxes of bits from his grandfather that he rebulit to become his ols Morgan 3 wheeler. In true Morgan tradition he was missing the bonnet and managed to fabricate one from some metal from work and used some yellow paint he found somewhere. One day after a really bad day at work I decided to go for a swim and on my way saw this yellow 4 wheeler at the traffic lights. He called me over to jump in and off we went for a drive. The drive was like magic and then he offerd to let me have a go. This was the most exhilarating drive of my life. I remember driving along the A41 and this confirmed what I had suspected from my visit to the factory about 15 years earlier that I MUST own a Morgan in my life! Everybody was lloking at us as we drove along the road and then to my utter astonishment a white 3 wheeler came along in the opposite direction and we waved to each other! I was hooked.
Roll along to last year and our good friends in South Africa had taken delivery of the first M3W into the country and then purchased a 2002 4.6 Plus 8 - 3 weeks of driving around the Cape in sunshine visiting vineyards sealed it for us. So last November we just went for a look to see what Lifes had in and 3o minutes later I found my wallet had sprung open and agreed to purchase a 2011 4/4/ Sport and a month ago a 2011 Plus 4 Supersport.
It's become quite an affliction now. Every day I have to look at pictures of Morgans and read something about them even if I can't take one of the cars out. As they go - it's not a bad affliction to have!
