The big advantage of "no airbags" is that a UK car can't fail its MOT because they don't work.
An old car with airbags must have apparently functioning airbags. That is no warning lights that stay on.
I'm convinced that modern multi-airbag cars will never become classics because of the cost and complexity of replacing all the airbags. The EU Road safety people were talking about setting a life" for airbags of 15 years, at which point they would have to be replaced. Not sure if it happened.
