It was interesting standing amongst the throng surrounding the two M3W's today. Folk were so excited by the fun factor & were leaping in for a play. This was immediately followed by a grimace and a comment about room or pedal size!
The poor chap staffing the stand wasn't used to motorcyclists and the banter, and looked decidedly uncomfortable at times but did his best. The serious enquirers searched him out, the rest just had their photo's taken & enjoyed playing 'brum, brumm'
Most had a comment upon leaving about the bottom line cost, but if they were like Honda Cubs the world would be a sadder place.
I really like those louvres in the rear panel, though. They seem to break up the rather middle aged lines of that rear from certain angles, but are they merely aesthetic or are they purposeful? Stand man had no idea. Any clues on here..?
The fan looks large but surprisingly subtle & unobtrusive. In fact, you almost have to look twice to see it although the NEC lighting isn't brilliant. Bet it's yet another noise to add to the cacophony, though..
Other than the M3W's, which I'm clearly biased about, there were few other bikes that stood out this year. One of these was the new 450 from CCM of Bolton, which starred full adventure styling and looked decidedly edgier than the usual oriental singles, or even the germanic derivative.
Unfortunately, the backing poster was a floor to ceiling poster starring...wait for it...James Blunt. Cancel my cheque then, please..
Overall, a good day out (and thanks to m'boy for the free ticket..)
