Polished alloy is actually quite practical, though it is a lot of work, some may call it a labour of love! It gets easier the more it is polished. I've had at least two polished alloy Caterhams over the years, but wouldn't have another one now, whilst good at the time though, the novelty does wear off.
With regard to the 2014 improvements, some are for cosmetic purposes, like the vents in the back, some are for practical purposes, but which oness do existing owners really need most?
A further thought about the cooling fan - now that there is a little cowl to the rear of the cylinders, it only needs some large bore heater hose led throught to the footwells, and hey presto, warm feet.
