If you had bought a new twin cylinder Morgan eighty years ago you would have had three levers on the steering wheel, two concentric for the throttle and choke operated by the right thumb and another on the left side for ignition advance and retard. With a hand throttle and just two pedals hill starts were a doddle, but the three speed gearbox had no synchromesh so double declutching was essential and to add to the excitement the front brakes were operated from the central lever, only the rear by the pedal.
