That's probably because there's a 400cell CAT squeezed into the ends of the header pipes - lose that and I am pretty sure things will pick up. What we need, as I've said before, is a proper Jap multi motorcycle-style absorption silencer that fits under the heat shield in place of the almost non-existent 'silencer' on the stock pipes. Those baffles (I think there are possibly 3 welded into the pipes) are the things that silence, but don't flow well at all. So when removed they are just plain noisy.

I am working on an absorption type silencer set for mine and will report back once I've made progress - they should flow as well as being less noisy than straights. In theory....
