Do you pay a lot in terms of import taxes as the prices works out at circa £145k
Luxury Car Tax (LCT) in Australia kicks in above AUD 60,316 (say UKL 32,550) and is 33%. I believe there are some other taxes before that.
The sting is that LCT applies on sales of secondhand cars above the threshold. Now I don't know if the $258k being asked includes the LCT. I imagine it does.
And if that isn't enough there is venerable stamp duty at varying rates in different states of around 2% in NSW.
The beauty is that a Morgan 4/4 enjoys an LCT concession because it is considered an economical car.
