The French cogged the 6months / 6K Kms from our lot -- designed to discourage anybody buying a new car abroad!! Miserable gits!!!
It was a sop to the motor trade here who complained that people were buying new cars in the UK where VAT rates were cheaper and then importing them as second-hand VAT paid. It was, of course meant to be a temporary measure, just like our Vehicle registration tax -- which can add €15 -20K to a Morgans price depending on the model!!!!!!!
Common Market --- not by a long shot as far as cars are concerned!!!
