Exactly!
All Series 2 Roadster owners need to keep the cable well greased and as the miles get up above 20,000 check it regularly.
It is easy to find a broken strand: greas the cable with your fingers and the end of the strand will stick into your skin.
This is painful.
I know, it is how I found the problem!
