IMHO side pipes make the biggest difference. Ale may be able to confirm.

I test drove mine and found its noise epic. Loud, bad and utterly LeMans GT3. Although, I will add to that, I have since learned to drive it a manner more considerate in a surburban environment, and doing so the apparent noise has lowered.

Anyway back to the plot, I then caught up with Ale - who astonishingly (and I am very grateful for) threw me the keys to his and I test drove that. At the time he had the rear pipes - and although it emitted a very similar sound - and perhaps a more coherent sound - it didn't have the same eruption/aggression/"370 Brian Blesseds" that the side pipes give.

Having walked down a path in trying to make a particular car sound better, and failing, I would try and find the "right" car for you. Although, I suspect, in the case of an Aero, adding side pipes isn't the biggest of challenges

As for out an out noise - a comparison between XKR-S and Morgan SS with side pipes:
- XKR-S arguably more docile at city speeds - although gentle throttle openings can allow the Morgan to be discreet
- XKR-S higher note - especially with rapid throttle openings
- Morgan has a deeper, bassier not - across the entire rev range
- Morgan is a warmer sound at lower revs - can feel slightly strangled in the mid-range (2,000-3,000) but epic above there
- Morgan has a more historic sound - noticably less modern
(IMHO)
