"I also spoke to Mark Evans a few minutes ago. He is working on an official answer about which bevel boxes might have the oil to grease issue. Meanwhile, if the bevel box has a coagulated grease like substance instead of oil, it is best to run fresh gear oil in it, turn the wheel to distribute the oil, then drain and repeat the procedure until it runs clear and clean. Then it would be advised to check it again in 100 miles or so."
