The ZF is a good box - was my choice and would remain my choice on an Aero. However the ZF still trades some tactility and control that a manual box doesn't. The manual mode is better than other Auto box manual modes, but vs the new modern dual clutch boxes it is hopelessly outclassed.
The porsche PDk, or Volkswagen DSG or Ferrari version are all fabulous and have all been out for a long while. I think if an auto is going to be there for Morgan in the range for the long run, the sooner they get to a proper DSG style box the better.
Quicker shifts, better rev matching and seamless traction are all highly desirable in a motor car...

The dual clutch system is the best you can get these days and is probably the way to go. (Well done, Porsche, for pioneering and applying the PDK all those years ago and subsequently adopted by Ferrari, VW et al...)
But for a single clutch transmission, the ZF is not half bad, eh??
(As a point of interest, it's a much better box than the one in a Ferrari 575 Superamerica: there is a much reduced lag/delay time between gear changes especially noticeable in the lower gears...)
