As a supplementary topic to Hugos question, I thought it would be interesting for us to speculate on the modifications and upgrades required to make a truly fast 5 speed Three Wheeler.
Obviously Mark Reeves has given this a lot of thought, with bigger engine [up to 2.2litres] smaller front wheels [18"], sticky rubber all round, and lowered suspension, probably with trick dampers.
I also suspect his car has been on a diet, additionally, maybe the gearbox ratios could be changed to bring them much closer, especially 1st - 2nd and 2nd - 3rd gears using a longer 1st gear. The brake pedal hardened up and some better pads installed, and of course, there is untold engine tuning capability.
What else can we suggest to make the 5 Speeder go up hills better?
