I certainly don't lug the engine....Been riding bikes for the last 30 years,mainly big V-Twins.
Cocerning a larger section on the rear tyre, then if you up the ante on the power-plant and tweak it, then I figured maybe you'd want a bit more rubber on the tarmac to transfer that power.
Just a thought as I had an old springer with a 180 rear, traded it out for a newer one with a 200 rear plus bigger engine and it just felt better, well in my mind. On the same token had a go of my mates Roer with a 240 rear and it was awful, handled like a sausage.
