Hello to everyone. I am a recent convert to the Morgan marque having purchased a 2002 Connaught Green 4/4 from the great team of enthusiasts at Lifes Motors in Southport earlier this year. The car is a delight. When it was examined for the Manx Vehicle Test Certificate the inspector said 'It's really like new' - which was great to hear.

There is a good possibility that my profile is a similar to a number of Morgan owners - a chance to rewind the clock a good way and to motor with a grin on the face! Previously my pastime car was a Jensen Interceptor so the reduced frequency of visits to petrol stations is another cause to smile!!! Mind you there are days when I miss the burble of the 7.2 litre Chrysler engine.

To tell a story against myself the photo was taken whilst awaiting the ferry to the Isle of Man. About 20 minutes later I was asked to drive down onto the Liverpool Landing Stage and do a 3-point turn to line-up for boarding. You can imagine that I was feeling pretty good as it was my first journey in the car. The 1st point went very well. But then came the 2nd. Reverse??? I'd forgotten to ask where that was. I thought I'd tried everything to find it....had to lean out of the window and say to the lads on the quay "Bit of trouble selecting reverse - would you mind giving me a little push?" Which they kindly did as I slipped lower in the seat. 3rd point was forward - no problems! I spent the next minute or two reading the manual....It's got better since then.

Looking forward to reading the threads and I hope on occasions to asking questions and maybe even commenting in due course. It is great to know that there is a place where we can share thoughts. Hope also that it ill be possible to make contact with other Morgan drivers on the Island.
