Earlier 4/4 were also slightly narrower across the body of the cockpit by I think c 5 inches.
Wow! That would have been cosy! You'd have to choose your passenger carefully with that!
Closer to 2" I think Roger, that was the approximate interior difference between my '76 4/4 and '97 +4. I understand 4 seaters may have had a little more interior width, particularly at the dashboard end...
