I rather fear it is all too common for MMC to omit parts of the wiring circuit to suit their own needs.

Back in the days of the Trad +8 , the knock senses were omitted from the GEMS cars , despite the wiring being included in the loom and the ECU expecting an input from them. Most owners added them later.

There must be many other examples.
