Interesting fault on my 2014 Brooklands Roadster. After a short stop , on engine start discovered a not previously seen light flashing on the dashboard accompanied by an audible warning ( beeping ) . Eventually worked out that it was a seat belt warning . But yes, you are right these cars don't have this refinement fitted. Eventually after reading the handbook , scratching of head and going through engine start a number of times the warning disappeared, as yet not to return. . MMC have said not seen this before, nor has Revolutions, the dealer in Perth. Has anybody else experienced this phantom warning? The ECU!s in these cars I think it's fair to say have been known to have the odd glitch, but to get a warning for something not actually fitted is a tad bizarre .
Hi Frank, as others have said here, your Brooklands may not have the seatbelt warning system connected. But don't discount the possibility that the standard loom is used, leaving the redundant wiring under the seat runners. On my 4/4 (which does have the belt warning connected) the cables were routed next to the seat runners which had chafed the cable and caused an intermittent short. Worth checking...
