The debate I think aptly demonstrates the ad hoc variations in our cars. My Brooklands Roadster does not have a seat belt warning system. Brooklands of course have different seats from standard roadsters and other models, although these seats are now available as an optional extra. They are certainly extremely comfortable. So the fault which manifested itself was without doubt an ECU , I think the body ECU, glitch. Clearly the electronic system will,be the same as cars with the seat belt warning fitted but evidently something energised the warning within the system other than bums on seats and seat belts not engaged
