I think that it is either a case of enjoying the car throughout the winter, and getting it ruined, or put it away for the worst months, and help it stay in a condition you would be proud of.
Years ago,I did one dry journey in a Caterham, after the roads had been salted, and even though I washed it down as thoroughly as I could, it had to go away wet in the garage, and the damage after that was incredible, even the suspension bolts were rusted in, in spite of using a smear of 'coppaslip' when I assembled the car. Since then, I have never given in to the temptation to take this sort of car out in the winter, unless I am 100% certain there is no salt around.
