Makes great sense as a company car purchase, so long as you have enough of your 500K annual investment allowance left you can claim 100% tax write off in first year for the value of the Tesla and there is virtually no company car / benefit in kind tax for the driver.

When the above is considered total cost of ownership looks very attractive. If it is your own company and you are the driver you effectivly score twice from the tax man, I calculate the true cost as a company director would be less than 50% of retail once the tax breaks have worked their magic. And that is assuming you are paying for electricity and before you have factored in fuel savings.

On top of this its a very interesting car and I guess residuals will hold firm with the eight year drive train and battery warranty offered with the car.
