Having done a bit of research on Tesla, I reckoned that a Model S is going to be pretty unaffordable for a while, but a Model X (assuming they get the doors sorted) or even a Model 3 would be an option in a few years, maybe as a 60th birthday/retirement present?

So anyway, I tentatively broached the subject to the Finance and General Purposes Committee (otherwise known as 'er indoors) , expecting to get short shrift, and got a very positive response, although mainly it consisted of "We can call it Nikolai!". Bless.

Best of all, one of the supplementary concerns was "Aren't they a bit slow? I wouldn't want to go around in something like a milk float."

"Oh, I think they do a slightly quicker one" came my response. So now I can start saving for a P85D, that should keep her happy...
