Toine, Who has given you this information? I have taken my car for its CT here since 2004 and the side pipe has never been commented upon.
Car is registered in Belgium, dealer told me that overthere during CT/MOT pre-check about straight thru pipe only tho (more exactly about removing the rusted middle silencer and replacing it with a pipe.)
