Well done! I'm disappointed that Quaife, with all their experience in producing performance orientated transmission products, cannot build a relatively simple bevel box that's both quiet and long-lasting. Gerry.
I wonder if they were working under unreasonable cost pressure from MMC, and built down to meet the specified price? Certainly their other products are excellent if my torque-biasing diff is anything to go by.
I suspect that this is absolutely the case. Quaife are proud of their engineering and their products are very well respected in all forms of motorsport, so I suspect that they are trying to distance themselves from the 'issues' over the M3W BB. This would explain their 100% consistent message that they will not deal with customers and always refer folk back to the MMC. Suspect that was always (and remains) part of the supply deal.
At £33k however, you'd not expect that the MMC needed to be too worried about an extra £500 or so to get the BB engineered to their same high standards though would you?!
