I have cured the fumes issue by fitting a side exit exhaust. The right angle came from Librands and a finisher from Demon Tweek's. The only problem with fitting was the exhaust pipe and Librands item are the same size. It was easily solved by a simple weld to the new pipe of an external sleeve which fitted over the original. A few slices in the sleeve enabled the existing clamp to tighten it down. A small amount of aluminium had to be removed from the inner wheel arch for the new pipe to exit at a good angle!
I had no problems with the test certificate and have a steady tick over.
