Howard just fix the issue. Go for a rumble in shooters well run and well maintained example. He knows more about using one daily than anyone. He also has a similar bike itch.
My guess is the handling will feel a little heavy after the Lotus but the rest of the event will win you over. Then try a modern Plus8 like Peters with a manual box. I love the auto in the coupe but think the manual will be more to your liking.
You know the rules pee or get off the pot. Time you made the decision and deep down you know you have already made it really.
