I found the rubber compensator did indeed bed in and allow the engine to be happy at lower revs after around 1500 miles, i had assumed ut was the engine breaking in but could well have been the rubber in the compensator.
I would check the tyre pressures, its not unheard of for gargae air lines to be out of calibration and that would give the symphoms describedmif the tyes were too hard.
