Bearing in mind that, unlike the engine, there is no combustion taking place in the bevel box, all this heat must be produced by friction.
If the friction produces this amount of heat, how much power is that friction absorbing?

Presumably its quite a small area to disperse the heat. To calculate the power absorbed you need the time it takes to get the oil say +40deg and assume not much heat loss through the casing while its heating up, and the volume of oil heated. Then some maths smile
