I bought that car in 2012, it was badly bent and back then Morgen was´nt selling Spares for this kind of damage. So, I dismantled the whole wreck, straightened the Chassis, renewed it in parts, biult new wishbones eliminating steering deficiancys, built a new steering rack with correct width getting rid of bump steer and repanneled the damaged parts.
After this I had a look at the rear swing arm, imho a very cheap way of going abut things, so i built a new one using aircraft grade tubing, eliminating squeese on the front of the swing arm and made slideable shock mounts to adjust ride height.
One of my aims while modifying was to reduce weight and I came up with the following:
Rear unsprung weight saving 10 Kilogramms, front 4 Kilograms per side with custom mudguards.
As you can imagine this has made quite a difference to roadholding and performance.
Later I converted to motorcycle brakes at the front for less foot pressure and saved another 500 Gramms per side
Turned out to be a fun car to race and reasonably competitive up against 4 wheelers.
Anyone wanting photos pls. contakt.
