Agreed but when you are using a thin stainless bulkhead you can twist the flange down to fit and drill where you like....on an ally formed panel with laser cut holes??? Not making this up, it came from the factory!
And by the way I agree with you, the bloody things should be galvanised and then rejigged or dipped in a sacrificial holding jig......there is a solution out there that just needs finding.
