I recently replaced my boot tray securing screws with stainless hex cap heads. The hex in the factory screws had started to wear with use to the point where I could not get one out and had to saw a slot in it to extract it. I also fitted penny washers , glued to the plastic tray as I noticed the holes in the plastic were starting to oval with wear taking the screws in and out. Plastic is not a good bearing surface.
Hopefully this will last a good many years and not deteriorate as it was.
Screws are 5mm by the way.
