Not sure I get the point of your post unless it's to share your disappointment?
The Centa coupling is actually fantastic in practice and after many thousands of miles, still trouble free and quiet as a mouse unless you're about to stall that huge v-twin..!
Think of it as a cush drive between the engine and gearbox.
