DAB is heavy on power usage (in relative terms) compared to "traditional" am and fm modes.
Why DAB radios are still so expensive (again in relative terms) is another question altogether...
I think DAB is just a transition - internet Radio will be the future in a fully connected world. Cars are so close now I don't know why they don't go this route anyway....
