I wouldn't consider taking a grease gun on a road trip of 1000miles.

Even if one did wish to grease one's pins when on tour, all that's needed is a smallish grease gun, a plastic sheet to lie on, a rag and a pair of disposable gloves. Takes less than 10 minutes, you don't need to jack the car up.
