Very light blue painted wires can look grubby very quickly. Overnight stop at a hotel, bucket of water and (I forgot to list this item I carry) a soft long-bristled paintbrush to get into the spokes; result - sparkling wheels once more. That should stir up the "get a life" crew again.
And finally (another item I forgot), should I be travelling with the hood up (very, very rare) and with passenger(s) in the back seats and there is a front-end prang that incapacitates the front seat occupants, then those in the rear seats can't get out. So within reach of the rear passengers is a Victorinox rescue tool (see
here). Should the worst happen rear seat passengers can sever any jammed seatbelts and cut their way out of the hood. The rescue tool was recommended somewhere within these TM pages.
