Well I tried it last night on my spare axle and it works!!
Installed it with a little bit of copperslip on all threads especially the centre bolt and a scrap piece of brass between the bottom of the bolt and castle nut.
Tightened it up with my breaker bar and no extensions.
Once it had tension on it I gave the hub a clout with a copper hammer and bang, off the taper it came!!
